when used in this notice, mean CharterBank.
This
is our privacy notice for our customers.
When we use the words "you" and
"your", we mean the following types of
customers:
We
will tell you the sources for nonpublic personal
information we collect on our customers. We will
tell you what measures we take to secure that
information.
Nonpublic
personal information means information about you
that we collect in connection with providing a financial
product or service to you. Nonpublic personal
information does not include information that is
available from public sources, such as telephone
directories or government records.

affiliate is a company we own or control,
a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is
owned or controlled by the same company that owns or
controls us. Ownership does not mean complete
ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

nonaffiliated third party is a company
that is not an affiliate of ours.
Our
Obligation to You
We recognize the importance you place on your
privacy and the confidentiality of your financial
information. Therefore, we do not disclose and do
not reserve the right to disclose non-public personal
information about customers or former customers to
affiliates or non-affiliated third parties except as
permitted by law. We restrict access to non-public
personal information about you to those employees who
need to know that information to provide products and
services to you. We maintain physical, electronic,
and procedural safeguards that comply with federal
standards to guard your non-public personal information.
Collecting
Information
We require certain personal information when
establishing a new relationship with us. The
information may include your name, address, telephone
number employer, social security number and current
valid identification provided by the consumer. By
applying for an account, you are also authorizing us to
verify your credit history. This information is
retained so we can provide you with the services you
request and for any future services we may be able to
provide to you.
Protecting
Your Information
CharterBank does not sell or disclose your personal
information to outside parties. Keeping consumers'
financial information secure is one of our most
important responsibilities. We limit access to
customer information to those associates who need to
know that information to provide products and services
to you under a servicing agreement with the bank.
We
will also provide information to a government agency, a
court, or a regulator if required by law.
CharterBank will also provide credit bureaus with information
regarding the status of your account(s) under the Fair
Credit Reporting Act.
Each
Charter Bank employee is required to follow our
"Secrecy Agreement", which states that a
customer's information is extremely confidential and is
to be used only for the purpose of servicing the
customer.
Internal
training of CharterBank's Privacy Policy for employees
will be done on an annual basis for any employee who has
access to customer information.
Accuracy
of Information
CharterBank provides you with access to your
account information through various means such as
account statements, telephone banking and online
banking. If you ever find that your information is
incomplete or inaccurate, please contact us so that we
may make any changes necessary to keep your records
current.
